‘TWO SISTERS, A RECKONING THAT SEEPS THROUGH TIME’
MEETS ITS AUDIENCE FOR THE FIRST TIME ON THE FİŞEKHANE MAIN STAGE!
Produced by Aksel Bonfil and Begüm Ertuğrul, based on a story by Önem Günal and written and directed by Anıl Can Beydilli, the play brings to the stage two sisters, raised by their grandmother but drifted apart over the years, as they confront the past and each other.
Uniting Tülin Özen and Nilperi Şahinkaya in a theatre project for the first time, ‘Ballı Süt’ (Honey Milk) premiered on the evening of 28 February on the Fişekhane Main Stage. Fişekhane, which brings together culture, art, gastronomy and life, and carries the past into the present while preserving its historic atmosphere, hosted this special night.
The Story of Derya and Asiye
Unfolding across three different time frames, the play explores the impact of childhood trauma on two different characters, focusing on the fine line between ‘being strong’ and ‘being alone’.
The story of Derya and Asiye – of suppressed grief, unfinished feelings and a sisterly bond in transformation – reaches the audience through a narrative in which pain and humour are intertwined.
“Ballı Süt” Returns to the Fişekhane Stage
Having drawn great interest on its opening night, “Ballı Süt” will meet audiences again on the Fişekhane Main Stage on 10 April and 8 May.
Brought to Istanbul by Özak Global Holding, Fişekhane continues to present high-quality productions to art lovers throughout the season with a stage programme curated under the Özak Kültür Sanat Eğitim Vakfı (ÖZAKKSEV), in line with its culture- and arts-focused approach.
