ENKA Sanat opens its new season with the premiere of a very special, heart-warming encounter: “Bir Hikâye Bir Türkü” (A Story, A Folk Song). At this talk-concert at the ENKA Oditoryumu on the evening of Tuesday 17 February, writer Yekta Kopan, who has devoted his life to art and literature, will share the stage with musician Coşkun Karademir, who has carried the saz and the words of Anatolia to stages around the world.
Written by Özlem Belkıs, “Bir Hikâye Bir Türkü” follows the trail of folk songs, sayings and melodies, blending art, literature and music in a single crucible and inviting audiences on an intimate journey. In this special project, which aims to dissolve the boundary between stage and audience – to sing together and to remember together – universal themes such as friendship, hope, longing, love, parting and heroism will find voice, sometimes with sorrow, sometimes with a smile and sometimes with laughter. On the night, the duo will be accompanied by Burak Çakır on percussion, Alper Uğurlar on acoustic bass, Şeyhmus Fidan on guitar, Cem Killik on duduk, Hüseyin Yalçın on kamancheh and Esma Kaya on vocals.
“Bir Hikâye Bir Türkü”, Tuesday 17 February at 20.30 at the ENKA Oditoryumu.
Tickets are available from Biletix and the ENKA Sanat box office.
