Grand Pera, which offers its guests unforgettable experiences with its historic fabric and unique atmosphere, is hosting the world-famous Candlelight concert series at Emek Sahnesi, a venue with a special place in Beyoğlu’s cultural memory. On a stage lit by thousands of candles, music becomes an experience that is felt as much as heard; merging with the venue’s majestic architecture, it carries the audience away from the rhythm of time.
With a wide-ranging selection stretching from the timeless compositions of classical music to the powerful repertoire of modern pop and rock, the Candlelight concerts turn each evening into a musical story of its own, with a programme that runs from Ed Sheeran and Coldplay to Queen and ABBA, and from Vivaldi to Hans Zimmer. Merging with the visual impact of candlelight, the performances create a strong, sensory bond between audience and stage at Emek Sahnesi.
The Candlelight concert series got off to a strong start at Grand Pera on 7 February with two special concerts. Candlelight: Ed Sheeran x Coldplay at 18:00 and Candlelight: Queen vs. ABBA at 20:30 were met with great enthusiasm at Emek Sahnesi. Selling out quickly and filling the hall to capacity, the first concerts gave audiences an unforgettable atmosphere. The strong demand has also heightened interest in the rest of the series at Grand Pera.
The Candlelight series continues on 27 March with the timeless masterpiece “Vivaldi’s Four Seasons”, and on 28 March with Coldplay x Imagine Dragons at 18:00 and Queen vs. ABBA at 20:30. On 4 April, the Ed Sheeran x Coldplay concert at 18:00 will be followed by a Hans Zimmer selection at 20:30. The final concerts of Candlelight – whose performances, combined with the visual composition created by candlelight, give audiences a unique and unforgettable experience at Emek Sahnesi – will take place on 9 May, with Queen vs. ABBA at 18:00 and Ed Sheeran x Coldplay at 20:30.
Brought to life through Özak Global Holding’s culture- and arts-focused approach, Grand Pera continues to contribute to Beyoğlu’s cultural life by bringing together different disciplines of music and the performing arts throughout the year in its venues of historic and architectural value, foremost among them Emek Sahnesi.
