The “30. Yılımızda Adımlarımızla Geleceği Aydınlatıyoruz” (In Our 30th Year, Our Steps Light Up the Future) campaign has provided quality educational support to 3,032 children.
With the support of 4,420 donors, the “30. Yılımızda Adımlarımızla Geleceği Aydınlatıyoruz” campaign, launched as part of the 47th İstanbul Marathon on Sunday 2 November by the Türkiye Eğitim Gönüllüleri Vakfı (Educational Volunteers Foundation of Turkey, TEGV), which has been bringing quality educational support to children for 30 years, has provided educational support to 3,032 TEGV children.
The 47th İstanbul Marathon, the only marathon in the world run across two continents, took place this year on Sunday 2 November. As part of the marathon, the Türkiye Eğitim Gönüllüleri Vakfı (TEGV), celebrating its 30th anniversary in this special year, launched the “30. Yılımızda Adımlarımızla Geleceği Aydınlatıyoruz” campaign. With the support of 510 TEGV runners and 4,420 donors, the campaign provided quality educational support to 3,032 TEGV children across Turkey. TEGV runners turned their steps into education, contributing to children’s futures. Donations to the campaign closed on 17 November, and the support raised has given thousands of children the opportunity to receive an education at TEGV.
TEGV raises funds for educational support through the marathons it takes part in
Thanks to the funds raised through the marathons it takes part in during the year, TEGV has so far brought quality educational support to tens of thousands of children. Guided by its vision “Bir Çocuk Değişir, Türkiye Gelişir” (Change One Child, and Turkey Develops), TEGV offers quality educational support to primary-school-age children to help raise modern generations in the light of the principles and values of the Republic, and for many years it has also raised funds for this support through the marathons it joins. This year’s runners included corporate running teams, who combined sport with social responsibility, strengthening team spirit while supporting children’s education. In its marathon campaigns, TEGV does not merely collect donations; it also raises public awareness and underlines the importance of children’s right to access quality education. Having provided quality educational support to more than 3.2 million children with the help of over 100,000 volunteers to date, TEGV contributes not only to children’s academic development but also to their social and emotional growth, through programmes for all children in areas such as art, science, technology and life skills.
A year’s educational support for one child at TEGV costs 1.750 TL.
