Banu Sıvacı’s second feature film, Günyüzü (Hear The Yellow), will have its world premiere this year at the 76th Berlin Film Festival. The film has been selected for the Forum, regarded as one of the Berlinale’s most long-standing and intellectually rigorous sections, and will be in contention for a number of awards. The Forum traditionally hosts the world premieres of undiscovered talents and the most surprising work by master filmmakers.
Starring Selva Erdener and Süleyman Kadim Kabaali, the film brings together a large and gifted cast. With cinematography by Yusuf Aslanyürek, it is a co-production between Anagraffilm, AnFilm and Aslanyürekfilm, with Banu Sıvacı, Orkun Huylu and Yusuf Aslanyürek serving as producers.
Written and directed by Banu Sıvacı, “Güvercin” (The Pigeon, 2018) was the director’s debut feature, and one of the most tender yet powerful coming-of-age stories Turkish cinema has seen in recent years.
