First of all, we’re so glad you’re here, whether you want to become an oiktozian or just find out more. We hope to see you among us soon.
oiktoz is a culture and arts initiative that set out with the motto Plenty of Culture, Lots of Art. What began in 2018 as a social media page sharing literature has grown into a vibrant, growing community with a website, an art club, a magazine, a newsletter, an academy and many oiktozians. It is a collective that tells the stories of people who take pleasure in engaging with culture and the arts, and who create in this field so that the pleasure never ends. It publishes in two languages, Turkish and English.
Together with oiktozians, we want to hear new stories and tell new ones. Here’s what we offer those who become oiktozians:
- The chance to meet lots of new people who love art and culture in the oiktoz universe, and to build a new social circle
- Free books and cinema and theater tickets sent to oiktozians every month through a prize draw

So what do we expect from those who want to become oiktozians?
We ask you to send at least 3 reviews each month in the literature, TV & film or theater categories. That’s all. In your reviews, please put front and center the feelings and emotions the book, film or play left you with, because we want those feelings to inspire many people and let them feel what you felt. Our editors will read the reviews you send, and if they fit our editorial policy from a literary standpoint, they will be published on our website under a profile created in your name. And that will make you an oiktozian.
Writers who have 3 literary works (short stories, novels, poems, essays, etc.) approved and published along the way will also gain “oiktozian” status and get their own profile.
Send us one sample review, in any category, at oiktoz@gmail.com with the subject line “Becoming an oiktozian – Name Surname – Review Title / Category”. Your writing must be original, your own work, and not previously published on any other platform. Please also include a short bio of 35–40 words introducing yourself, along with a photo of you. We reply to every submission, whether the answer is yes or no.
